A Day at the Zoo

Hubby and I spent the day at the San Diego Zoo for Valentine's Day.  My main goal was to see the baby panda, Yun Zi.  I have been stalking...um, I mean watching him on Pandacam since he was still crawling.  Now he is up running and climbing in his own exhibit with his wonderful mom, Bai Yun.  I was unable to get any pictures that could do him justice.  Maybe if I brought a telephoto lens, but he is just too cute in real life.  Oh, and I took a few photos of the other animals there too.

Song's Crepes

Crepes!  Yes, I said crepes.  Who doesn't love crepes?  Sweet or savory?  I say give me both.

Lucky for me my sister Stephanie is starting her own crepe business called Song's Crepes along with her partner in crime, Cari.  Their official debut will be at the Long Beach Sunday Market on Sunday February 28, 2010 from 9am to 2pm.  Come one, come all!  Please click on this link for details.  http://www.longbeachsundaymarket.com/about/

Song's Crepes unofficial debut happened for friends and family this past Saturday and it was good.  We stuffed ourselves silly and we only did it to help Song's Crepes out by giving our critiques.  It was a hard job to do to eat all those yummy crepes but we did it out of...out of love.

I documented this historic moment so they could possibly use these photos for their up and coming website. So, keep your eye out for that.  In the meantime...

Frazier Park

One of the many reasons to love LA is that you can drive one way for an hour and enjoy the snow and then go the other way and enjoy the beach.  On this particular trip we joined my nephew Finn on his first real snow adventure up to Frazier Park.

This invokes Monty Python's Holy Grail for me
Mummy?

Oh, and if I haven't said it in awhile, thanks for taking your time and checking out my corner of the web.

Be seeing you...

Vincent the "Pirate Kitty"

Vincent is an abandoned, stray kitty that us and some of the neighbors take care of.  At first, he looks a bit scary with his bad eye and all but don't let that fool you.  He is a big sweetheart with his creaky, scratchy old fence meow.

Here is my crocheted homage to Vincent the "Pirate Kitty".
